The
latest album available from This
still focuses on the amazing vocal qualities of Osvaldo Chacon himself
but over a wider range of styles than the first album. A Caribbean masterpiece
of styles ranging from Rap in the Southern States to Raggae and
Soca from
the islands. Cuban Timba under pins all the styles and Chacon expands
on his roots in interesting and lyrical ways. |

A
recent compilation form ARC Music with the not very original title of "Salsa" An eclectic mixture of artists and styles which initially I was not sure about but have come to play more and more. It is interesting that Chacon's "Mi Vicio" has been shown the respect it deserves and heads a cast of stars. I also like "Yo quiero to amour" from Victor Hugo and the fascinating female vocals of "Todo todo todo" by Rolando Sanchez & Salsa Hawaii. Buy from ARC Music |

The
first and defining album with This album expertly marks Osvaldo Chacon's work as a Timba artist with great compositional skills and the ability to inspire and command some excellent Cuban muscicians. "Mi Viceo" has quietly crept onto the regular play list of many club DJ's in the UK and Europe. No
other musician could produce work this good from a UK base. |
